Unlike many events in the past, this 2010 tournament did not feature any new teams. Contrary to popular belief, Slovakia had played, but simply did not appear under the name “Slovakia” The North Korean international FIFA team fully qualified for a first appearance since the mid 20th century, 1966. Other longlost teams were Honduras and New Zealand. Both of which made their first appearances since the 1982 International games.
